As a respected independent practice operating across London and the South East, we are looking to welcome a Chartered Building Surveyor to our team — someone who values quality, professional development, and the opportunity to play a meaningful part in a growing firm.
This role offers genuine long-term potential, working closely with the Directors while developing your own profile and specialisms within residential surveying.
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of residential surveys and professional services. You will have the autonomy to manage your own workload while being supported by an experienced and approachable team.
We are open to both full-time employees and consultancy-based surveyors.
– Conducting Level 2 Homebuyer Reports, Level 3 Building Surveys and valuations
– Supporting or leading on Party Wall matters (training provided if required)
– Occasional involvement in contract administration and quality inspection work
– Liaising directly with clients, managing expectations and providing clear advice
– Ensuring timely and high-quality reporting in line with company SLAs
– Supporting junior staff or trainees where applicable
– MRICS qualified (strict requirement)
– Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in residential surveying
– Experience in valuations and Level 2/3 reports essential
– Interest or experience in Party Wall matters or project work welcomed
– Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
– Confident communicator with a professional, client-focused approach
– £50,000–£70,000 salary depending on experience
– Car allowance plus mileage and expenses paid
– Hybrid working arrangement with office base in Dorking
– 32 days holiday including bank holidays (Christmas closure included)

– Ongoing support and training for Party Wall and QI work

Mark Williams Studied at Reading University graduating in 1977 with a degree in building Surveying.
While working for a small firm of Chartered Surveyors in Mayfair he obtained his membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and subsequently became a fellow of the RICS in 1993.
Although working on many varied and diverse projects involving all aspects of Building Surveying, Mark now specialises in Party Wall Work and pre-purchase residential surveying. He is also a member of both the Pyramus and Thisbe Society and the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors.
Christopher Daley is one of the building surveying director of the practice. He started as a trainee surveyor in Local Government in the early 1970’s and at the same time attended at the Polytechnic of the South Bank on a part time basis and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Building Surveying in 1979. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1981.
He has wide experience of building surveying, starting initially in the District Surveyors service, but went on to become involved in residential refurbishment work and major building maintenance, both in the public and private sector. His current workload continues to include building defect identification and contract administration work, project management, party wall work, dilapidations and general valuation and building surveys. Christopher also deals with most of the ecclesiastical work in the practice, which included works to Historic Buildings. He is a member of the Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors association.
